GAF’s Ridge Cap Shingles: Your Wide Range of Options

Roofing shingles offer more benefits for your home than just aesthetic appeal. If applied right, they can prevent leaks from wind driven rains and even prevent ice dams during the winter season. With GAF’s Ridge Cap Shingles, you can get both benefits and more.

GAF’s ridge cap shingles can do whatever regular shingles can do but in a better way. Not only can the hip and ridge cap shingles enhance your home’s natural beauty, but your wide range of options can also add further depth and dimension to your 3-tab shingle roof – all while offering you protection from the elements.

Z®Ridge

Despite being part of GAF’s standard hip and ridge cap shingle line, the Z®Ridge has a unique Z-fold design that allow your roof to mimic the look of thick wood shakes. It can also help you protect any high-stress area in your roof, allowing you to remain worry-free about any immediate roofing damage.

Seal-A-Ridge® ArmorShield™

This modified ridge cap shingle helps you protect your home against leaks at the hips and ridges of your roof while complementing the shingles. You won’t have to worry about any shingle-blow off with this product as the Dura Grip™ Self-Seal Adhesive seals attached to it allows your shingles to stay in place. The StainGuard® Protection it comes with can also prevent any blue-green algae in your roof.

TimberTex®

Want a more dramatic flair for your roof without sacrificing its protective properties? Then, GAF’s premium hip and ridge cap shingles are the way to go. One of the products in their premium line is the TimberTex®. The TimberTex allows your roof to have an added dimension due to its thick, double-layer design and provides a multilayer protection for the high stress areas of your roof. Like the products before it, its adhesive seals greatly reduce shingle blow-off and prevents blue-green algae from marring the roof’s beauty.

Ridglass®

The Ridglass® option, on the other hand, can provide your home with a wood-shake look, thanks to its high-profile design. Aside from protecting the high-stress areas of your roof, Ridglass also comes with an SBS-modified asphalt that adds further flexibility and durability to your roof. In the event of any damage, meanwhile, you wouldn’t have to worry about anything as it comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

TimberCrest™

Out of all GAF’s ridge cap shingle options, TimberCrest™ is likely the easiest to install. Aside from the fact that it comes with all the features of the other options, each piece of this ridge cap shingle comes in pre-flexed boxes that allows it to simply be removed and nailed in place. The unique alignment guide in its headlap also ensures that every individual piece is properly centered over a hip or ridge.
